Catching up -
Jan 6: Emily was hilarious with food tonight! I was eating a slice of bread while feeding her, and when I popped the last piece in my mouth, she started screaming. I got another slice and offered her some, and she lit up in smile and ate almost the while thing! She also did the sign for "eat" and "more" when she noticed her cake on the counter!
We enjoyed the beautiful weather by going to the playground. Joshua wanted to go down the slide standing up. And he successfully climbed the OUTSIDE of the tunnel slide several times. Emily loved the swing, and had fun going down the slide too. Joshua likes to go down holding Emily, but she's not always as excited about it, since he usually squeezes the air out of her...
Jan 8: Emily definitely knows names. She knows her own, Joshua's and momma & daddy. Joshua loves to play "hide & seek" and his favorite is when Emily comes looking for him. He takes all the pillows off the couch and hides under them. Just his eyes peek out and when Emily spots him, she starts squealing, jumping and laughing!
On our walk, we were watching some cement mixers in action, including a pumper. One of the drivers spotted us and invited Joshua over. He let Joshua sit in the cab and even pull the horn! Joshua had a blast!! It sounds like he's calling them "cupcake mumers," but he's actually saying "concrete mixers."
Jan 10: When Shawn came home, Joshua yelled out "Hi, dear!" I guess that's what you're s'posed to say when he comes home, since that's what we both say to each other.
Emily makes appropriate noises for both dinosaurs and trucks. She was walking around holding Joshua's T-Rex and roaring. She will also wave cars around and make a humming noise. She is pretty good at the shake'n'go cars - she stands and shakes them up and down and then even sets them on the track - sometimes in the right spot, and loves it when they speed off! She still loves chasing balls around the house.
Jan 11: I started a little bit of potty training with Joshua today. The other day, Shawn had told him he has to go in the potty if he wants to go to school. I think he really just wants to ride the school BUS, but it is a great motivator for him. He used the potty every time I set him on it today, which was every 30 min, but he still doesn't tell me if he needs to go. He did ask me at one point if he could go to school now. :-)
